Former Mason County Librarian Sues County Over “Protected Speech”

Sally Stern-Hamilton recently filed a lawsuit against the Mason County District Library in Ludington. She was fired for writing a book that upset her employers. The lawsuit states that Hamilton's book “Library Diaries” engaged in protected speech. Hamilton said she wrote the book as a fictional account of her on-the job experiences. The name of the town in her book is “Denialville” and features run-ins with unpleasant customers.
