If planning activities outdoors, be sure do take frequent breaks and drink plenty of ice cold water. Temperatures remain in the 90's for many on Thursday. * An Excessive Heat Watch is in effect for our Central Counties Tomorrow. There is a very good chance to see the Heat Index above 105 degrees tomorow afternoon. This could get upgraded to a Excessive Heat Warning. Tonight's forecast is very similar to the last few nights. Hazy and humid with lows in the 60's and 70's. There is the chance of showers later tonight which could linger into tomorrow morning. We wil be watching the western U.P. see what develops later tonight. Winds go light to less than 8 mph, so watch out for fog again. A huge push of heat and humidity arrives tomorrow and you will certainly feel it. A breeze will help a little but all it's really doing is moving a lot of hot air. Highs in the Upper Peninsula will be coolest with readings in the 80's to low 90's. A few showers or storms could be around in the morning but skies will dry out during the afternoon. The Lower Peninsula is really going to heat up, especially from Traverse City southward. Highs in these areas will be in the 90's with spots possibly hitting 100 degrees. Add in the humidity and it will feel like 100 for a good portion of the afternoon. As noted earlier, if working outside plan on taking extra break and drinking lots of cold water to prevent heat exhaustion. Wednesday night is going to be incredibly hot. Lows will be in the 70's with some spots only falling into the upper 70's. The heat continues across for areas south of Traverse City with highs in the low to middle 90's. North of M-32, temperatures will be a bit cooler with highs in the 80's to low 90's. However, the humidity won't drop a lot so be prepared for the “feels like” temperatures to stay very high. Hazy, hot and humid weather continues for Friday and Saturday with highs of 84-94 degrees. Relief come in the form of showers and thunderstorms Sunday with only slightly cooler temperatures. Monday is when you'll really feel the cool air. Highs will then be in the 70's to low 80's. – Tom
