Crew Leaves International Space Station for Last Time
The crew of the final space shuttle mission has floated out of the International Space Station for the last time. The Atlantis crew left the station Monday morning. Atlantis' commander Christopher Ferguson gave the space station residents a U.S. flag that flew on board the very first shuttle mission, Columbia, in 1981. Ferguson told the residents that the American flag will return to earth when American astronauts return again to the station, launched from U.S. soil aboard a commercially developed aircraft. Atlantis is expected to un-dock from the station early on Tuesday. The final shuttle mission is expected to land back on Earth on Thursday morning.
