Gov. Snyder Signs New Laws Making it Harder to Buy Meth Supplies

Governor Rick Snyder signed legislation today making it harder for methamphetamine producers to buy key ingredients to make the drug. The bill limits the amount of over-the-counter cold and allergy medicines containing ephedrine or pseudoephedrine that a person can buy on a day or in a 30-day period. Before now, buyers have had to provide their name and show ID to buy the products but there hasn't been a limit on how much they can buy. The Governor also signed bills that require electronic tracking on products that contain both ingredients and make it illegal to use a fake ID to purchase them. In addition, Gov. Snyder also passed a bill outlawing bath salts. Which are a dangerous designer drug that are unrelated to products for baths.
