Marie……………32 ————————————— Today's bright sunshine made a world of difference for all of Northern Michigan. Last night, frost was the concern, now it's just a few showers. Clouds filter in this evening and overnight as a storm system tries to move through. A couple showers are possible for those of you North of M-72. Lows range from 44 to 49 degrees. Winds go light to less than 10 mph. Mostly cloudy skies are tomorrow's forecast. While it won't be as sunny, the mercury is still going to rise reaching the 60's to low 70's. There's the chance of showers early on North of M-55 but skies dry out for the late morning. Then the afternoon features the chance of showers South of M-55. It looks like many areas will be dry, just on the cloudy side. Winds shift direction and stay strong out of the S/SW at 8-18 mph. Saturday night is still dry for most locations but the exception looks to be south of US-10. Showers are possible here. As for temperatures, lows drop to about 50 degrees area-wide. Sunday starts off with a few lingering showers otherwise skies turn into hazy sunshine. Late afternoon showers and thunderstorms are possible South of M-72. Temperatures warm a bit more reaching the middle to upper 60's in the U.P. and 70's in the Lower Peninsula. Memorial Day is shaping up to be a very nice, warm day. Once again hazy sunshine is likely but with a surge of warm air. Highs range from 74 to 87 degrees. The warmest temperatures will be felt around Traverse City and areas South, along US-131. Winds pick up to 10-20 mph out of the Southwest. The threat of showers and thunderstorms return Tuesday afternoon as a strong cold front races across the state. Temperatures hit the upper 70's to upper 80's before cooling down into the 60's and 70's for Wednesday. -Tom
