UPDATE: Michigan Senate Approves Final Budget Bills-Now Headed to Governor’s Desk
The Michigan Senate has approved final budget bills for the state of Michigan, the bills are now headed to the Governor Rick Snyder's Desk. The Michigan House approved the bills that will cut education funding and money for some state programs, starting next year, earlier this afternoon. On Wednesday the Governor signed a separate bill that cut business taxes and raised income tax for some state residents. Gov. Snyder has been vocal about his goal of finalizing the state budget by May 31. In years past the budget has not been completed until Oct 1, which is the first day of the fiscal year.
