Reed City Students Create Geodesic Dome

Students at Reed City High School are reaping the benefits of an idea from a couple of their teachers. The geodesic growing dome now sits behind the high school. It was built in October thanks to several local sponsors and a $100,000 donation from Chartwells, a food service company. Students are using the facility to grow organic herbs, vegetables, fruits, and house plants. They hope to eventually sell some of their products at local farmers markets, and to area restaurants.
