NCAA Basketball Tournament Keeps Bars Busy

Opening weekend of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament has been an exciting one for fans, and for the owners of one certain segment of business. Bars in Traverse City say their crowds have been larger than normal since the start of the NCAA Tournament. With an in-state team like Michigan playing earlier this afternoon, it helps to bring customers downtown during a time that usually isn't busy. A bartender at the Union Street Station says it always helps sales when a team from Michigan is playing in a big game. A National Restaurant Association survey says twenty percent of American adults say they involve a restaurant or a bar in their March Madness viewing plans.
