Settlement Reached for Grand Traverse Septage Plant Flaws

A $750,000 settlement has been reached for the flawed Grand Traverse County septage plant. Thursday, the County Board of Public Works approved the settlement between the builder, engineer and project manager. The facility lost close to a half a million dollars last year, taking half as much waste as projected and costing twice as much to operate. If a deal wasn't reached, the county was prepared to sue. The deal now must be approved by the Board of Commissioners.
