Michigan's deer baiting ban is back on the table. People from all over the state gathered together in Lansing to share their thoughts on the controversial issue. Three years ago the DNRE detected the disease CWD in one deer in Kent County. They immediately put a ban on baiting in the lower peninsula, hoping the disease wouldn't spread. They have monitored it since then, and found no other cases of the disease. Today was the first of three public discussions about the issue. The medical marijuana community has their eyes glued on an important year-long legal battle to figure out the do's and don'ts of driving and medicating. Last February police arrested a Benzie County man for driving under the influence of marijuana. The problem is he's a registered medical marijuana cardholder. The new medical marijuana law does not address driving, so now it's up to the courts.
