7 Arrests Made in Northern Michigan Walmart Theft Ring

Michigan State Police in Petoskey have arrested 7 people in an organized theft ring that targeted Northern Michigan Walmart stores. Police say they expect more arrests and estimate that 20 people could be involved. The suspects are accused of working together to distract store employees and then steal merchandise. Later, they would return the merchandise for store gift cards or sell the stolen goods. Michigan State Police can confirm that the suspects have stolen from Walmart stores in; Sault Ste. Marie, Cheboygan, Gaylord and Petoskey. Police estimate that the value of stolen goods could be over $20,000.
