The next time you head to the Traverse Area District Library, you don't have to open a book to learn some history. The library has been loaned a statue of Perry Hannah, one of the founding fathers of Traverse City. And it's displaying the bronze masterpiece at it's location on Woodmere Avenue. Perry and his business partner left a lasting legacy in the city. The sculpture was created by T.C. West Senior High School science teacher David Kirby. Kirby is also responsible for the solar system installation in Traverse City.
