Marion on List of Low Achieving School Districts

The State of Michigan released a new list of 92 low-achieving schools. It includes a district in Northern Michigan. The list identifies 92 persistently low-achieving schools including Marion Public Schools. Schools on the list will have 90 days to submit a plan to turn things around. If the plans are rejected, the schools could end under state control as part of a reform plan. Schools were ranked on a federal formula that includes results from standardized tests. We'll hear from the Marion Schools Superintendent coming up tonight on 9&10 News at 11:00.
