New Bridge Will Help Environment

Construction is moving along as workers build a new bridge to help the environment. The Grand Traverse Conservation District spearheaded the project, knowing the area floods several times a year. The bridge has been in the works for about a year. Construction started Wednesday. The bridge is being built at the trailhead of the Garfield Trail in Traverse City. Workers are happy that the bridge, made with mostly recycled materials, is already working its magic. The bridge will also be strong and wide enough so emergency vehicles can drive over it. It should be completed in a few days. 9&10's Cali O'Rourke and photojournalist Evan Dean were at the site Thursday, they have more on the progress workers have made.
