Local Realtor Going Door-to-Door With Foreclosure Help
A local realtor plans to knock on 50 doors every week in the Grand Traverse area to try to keep people from losing their homes. Matt Hodges said that one out of seven people are facing foreclosure, but not enough people know how to help their situation. By letting people know what options are available to them, he hopes that more people will be able to keep their homes. Hodges and a local community action agency will hold a workshop to help people facing foreclosure. Local experts, attorneys and realtors will be offering help at the workshop, which will be held on Aug. 3 at the Northwest Michigan Community Action Agency in Traverse City. “We’ll have all the area specialists there to bounce ideas, and if you have certain questions you can ask it there,” Hodges said. Jennifer Profitt and Photojournalist Justin DePrekel have more details on how this local effort could help homeowners.
