Sheriff Arrests 2 in Boyne Highlands Robbery 1 Year Later

After a year long investigation, two men are in jail for their roles in an armed robbery at Boyne Highlands in Emmet County. Last July, a surveillance camera caught most of the robbery on tape. It shows a masked man using a gun to force the overnight employee into a room where the resort's cash is stored. After collecting more than $20,000, the robber tied up the worker with duct tape. On Friday, Emmet County deputies arrested Jame Rakoniewski of Petoskey and John Ruppen of Traverse City. Both are charged with armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery. The sheriff says he also expects further arrests.
