Old Town Arts Fair Prevails Through Weather

Despite early morning downpours and clouds looming overhead, the Old Town Arts and Crafts Fair went on as scheduled and drew large crowds for the first of three arts fairs put on by the Downtown Traverse City Association this summer. Today's fair shut down two blocks of Union Street in Traverse City's Old Town District with about 90 vendors from as far as Colorado on hand to offer their wares that spanned from carvings to button art. The fair is more than just the crafts though, organizers see it as a way to show off the area. The DTCA will also host the Cherry Festival's Arts and Crafts Fair next Sunday as well as the Downtown Art Fair on August 21st.
