Manistee Lifts Water Advisory
Manistee lifted its water boil advisory Monday afternoon. The city issued the advisory Friday after routine tests revealed coliform bacteria in the water supply. The city advised people not to drink the water without boiling it first, because the coliform can cause mild sickness. Manistee tested the water again on Saturday and Sunday and both tests came back clean. The city manager says the bacteria probably wasn't in the water long. They perform several water tests every week. 9&10's Alex Jokich and photojournalist Ben Talarico have more details after seeing how the ban affected the area.
