City Closes in on Contamination Solution

A coliform contamination found yesterday in the Manistee city water system has brought on a boil advisory for any water to be used for drinking. The contamination is believed to stem from a technological malfunction within the system. The water is safe to bathe in or to water your plants but people are asked to boil any tap water to be used for drinking or cooking. Fortunately the contamination was discovered quickly and city officials have already begun measures to solve the problem. Manistee City Manager Mitch Deisch says the Water Department is planning to lift the advisory by Monday afternoon if all goes according to plan.
