T.C. Coast Guard Headed to Gulf Coast
The Coast Guard Air Station in Traverse City is sending one of their five rescue helicopters and an aircrew to the Gulf region to help track the spread of oil. The commanding officer in Traverse City says they're prepared to do anything they're asked to do there, while staying ready for emergencies on the Great Lakes. The Traverse City crew will join thousands of other Coast Guardsmen who are involved in the oil disaster response.
