Business Expectations High For Memorial Day Weekend

According to AAA Michigan, state travel is projected to be slightly up from last year. AAA placed Traverse City, Mackinaw City, Petoskey, Munising, Sault Ste. Marie and Boyne Mountain on the list of top ten driving destinations in the state. That projection seems to fit with what some northern Michigan businesses are seeing for the upcoming weekend. The KOA Campground in Petoskey is around 70-percent booked for the weekend. Big Bear Adventures in Indian River says they've gotten a lot of calls from people interested in water activities they provide. Other businesses 9&10 News talked to on and off camera say the weekend tourism is highly reliant on the weather. 9&10's Christina Vecchioni and photojournalists Jeremy Erickson and Aaron Smith have more details.
