Hagerty Insurance Plans to Expand its Expansion
A major Traverse City employer has decided to expand an already planned expansion. Hagerty Insurance planned to finish its expansion project by the end of this year, but instead its going to take some more time on it and double the size. The project is all part of a deal with Traverse City. The city built the Old Town Parking Deck mainly because Hagerty agreed to expand. It has already promised to create more than 220 new jobs with the old project, but now that number will likely go up with the revised plans. The city signed off on the new deal and extended the deadline to finish the project to June 2012. 9&10's Ryan Raiche and Photojournalist Jeremy Erickson have more on the new plans.
