Fire Shuts Down Part of Main Street in Gaylord
Flames took over part of downtown Gaylord last night even shutting down a portion of Main Street. The fire started in a former lumber yard and spread quickly to surrounding buildings. The flames started around nine o'clock last night at the Gaylord Lumber Company. Then, they hit Venus blue Jean and Resale Shop and Mary's Tavern. The fire also melted the siding on the Subway shop and there were spot fires on roofs of other buildings. More than 100 firefighters had the fire under control in an hour. They are now waiting on a fire investigator to determine the cause. Christina Vecchioni and photojournalist Aaron Smith have more on the story.
