Blessing of the Bikes Sees Record Crowd

A Northern Michigan airport was packed with motorcycles today. The 38th Annual Blessing of the Bikes concluded today with its church service and bike blessing for all the riders that attended. The blessing took place in Lake County at the Baldwin Airport, just south of the city on M-37. Over 15,000 bikes were estimated to have attended the blessing this year, the most the event has ever seen. It cost bikers a mere five dollars to get into the blessing, and walkers were only charged two dollars. The blessing is also known as the original Blessing of the Bikes, boasting the largest crowds around the country. All of the money brought in at the event goes to the Meals on Wheels program.
