US-131 Freeway over Manistee River in Wexford County Back Open

After months of work and long detours, US-131 near Manton over the Manistee River is back open to traffic. The bridge in Wexford County just opened about an hour ago. The popular route has meant long detours for many drivers in northern Michigan. Crews finished things up nearly two weeks ahead of schedule. MDOT tells northern Michigan's News Leader that the warm spring weather helped them finish the project much sooner.
