High Fire Danger, D.N.R.E. Urges People To Use Caution Around Campfires

With a warm weekend ahead, people are starting to fill up Northern Michigan campgrounds. But, with the high to very high fire danger, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment is asking people to use extra caution around campfires. The D.N.R.E. is not issuing any burn permits in the Upper Peninsula or Northern Lower Peninsula right now, but campfires are still allowed. The D.N.R.E. says to have water and yard tools ready to help put the fire out when you are done. They say not to leave the fire until you know it is completely out. 9&10's Christina Vecchioni and photojournalist Aaron Smith have more from the Department of Natural Resources and Environment.
