LeFevour named DAC’s Athlete of the Year

Former Central Michigan quarterback Dan LeFevour has been selected as the Detroit Athletic Club's Michigan College Athlete of the Year. The DAC said in a release Tuesday that LeFevour and Michigan State basketball player Allyssa DeHaan, the female recipient of the award, will be honored at a May 10 banquet. The award is presented to student-athletes who excel academically and athletically, exhibit leadership and promote ethical and sportsmanlike behavior. LeFevour led the Chippewas, who were 36-15 in games he started, to three conference titles in his four seasons as a starter, four bowl game appearances and two bowl victories. LeFevour finished with 150 touchdowns, more than any other player in Football Bowl Subdivision, and 15,853 total yards. (Copyright 2010 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.)
