Ford Shows Impressive Growth For First Quarter
Ford Motor Company is off to a successful start this year. Ford's sales in the United States have jumped 37-percent in the first three months of 2010. Ford's U.S. market share has also made the biggest gain since 1977. Bill Marsh Automotive Group, out of Traverse City, tells us they're excited about the big numbers, but not surprised. They say there are several factors driving Ford up in the ranks. The auto group saw Ford's potential and bought a Ford dealership in Kalkaska last year. Partner, Jamie Marsh says they've watched Ford make smart decisions since the company fell on hard times. Marsh says ford's product development and investments in technology have paved the way for this success. He also says Toyota's recent troubles have sent some of its buyers over to Ford. The dealer says sales in Kalkaska are up sharply compared to one year ago. Marsh also says not taking a government bailout has helped increase consumer confidence in the brand. Erika Waddell and photojournalist Justin DePrekel have the story.
