Resources Tied Up in Search for Missing Man

Police spent the day searching for a missing man, only to find out he was safe in another city. Police say the man had been missing since Friday, and they were very concerned that he was in danger. They called in extra help, but later found out they didn't actually need it. The Clare County Sheriff's Department says they take every search seriously, but cases like this can be a waste of resources. They say today's search in Temple cost them not only money, but police and volunteers' time. Police want to remind people to let others know if you're planning to leave the area, so this kind of situation can be avoided in the future. 9&10's Alex Jokich and photojournalist Corey Petee have more details.
