New School Buildings Dedicated In Onekama

The dedication marked the culmination of years of planning and construction. The ceremony took place at the Onekama Consolidated Schools this afternoon at 1pm. A good sized crowd gathered around as school administrators and even some students helped cut the ribbon. The crowd then took a tour of the new facilities to see first hand how their efforts paid off. New facilities include a gym, art room, cafetorium, band room, and even some daycare rooms. And while state budget cuts have caused some layoffs at the school, the superintendant is proud of the community's support for the new building project. A large building built in 1930 was demolished to make way for the new building.
