It's time to begin a new chapter, said northern Michigan congressman Bart Stupak as he announced his plans to not seek re-election in November. The decision comes after serving 18 years in office. Stupak's announcement comes just weeks after Congress passed healthcare reform legislation. 90 yea old U.S. Supreme Court justice John Paul Stevens announced his retirement. Stevens was nominated by President Gerald Ford in 1975. One of the many candidates rumored to be in the mix to replace him is Michigan governor Jennifer Granholm.
