CMU Baseball wins rain-soaked contest 4-1
MT. PLEASANT – Blame it on the rain, or give the credit to CMU Pitchers Dietrich Enns and Zach Cooper. The Chippewas doused the Flames Tuesday afternoon with a 4-1 win at Theunissen Field. Enns in his first collegiate start retired 12 of the first 14 batters he faced on his way to 5 shutout innings. Cooper allowed three hits, struck out six and earned the win in relief. Cooper was the beneficiary of a 4-run 6th inning for CMU. Pinch-hitter James Teas started it off with an RBI single to left field that scored Dale Cornstubble. Then the next three batters: Scott Phillion, Jordan Dean, and Ricky Clark each drove in a run. CMU travels to Ann Arbor Wednesday to take on the Michigan Wolverines.
