Area Doctors Have Mixed Feelings on Healthcare Reform
Doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals have mixed feelings about healthcare reform. But most seem to agree it has a lot of potential. One doctor at Munson Family Practice in Traverse City says this is the first step to providing care to so many Americans who need it. But he has some concerns. “The real issue is suddenly we have 30 million more Americans that are going to have health care coverage. Where's the access for that? We don't know where that's going to come” says Dr. Daniel Webster, Assistant Dean for the College of Human Medicine at Munson Family Practice. If reform succeeds in training more doctors and fixes reimbursement issues, then Webster says it could be a great move. 9&10's Ryan Raiche and Photojournalist Jeremy Erickson have more reaction on healthcare reform.
