St. Ignace wins, Central Lake falls in Girls Basketball Semifinals

St. Ignace is headed to the girls basketball State Finals, while Central Lake is headed home. The Saints blew-out Niles Brandywine 64-35 in the Class C Semifinals in East Lansing today. Nicole Elmblad led St. Ignace with 19 points and 12 rebounds. The Saints now advance to their first state championship game since 2002. They'll face defending state champ Flint Hamady in Class C Championship game on Saturday at 4 PM. Central Lake's first ever trip to the girls basketball semifinals ended in a 54-39 loss to Adrian Lenawee Christian. Jasmine Hines had a monster game with 31 points and 20 rebounds. Hines fouled out with 2:29 left in the game and Central Lake trailing by four, 41-37. With Hines on the bench, Lenawee took advantage, closing the game on a 13-to-2 run.
