TCAPS Seeks Help From Public On Superintendent Search
The search is on for a new leader for Northern Michigan's largest school district. Tonight Traverse City Area Public Schools asked the community what they'd like to see in a new superintendent. The firm hired to conduct the search, Michigan Leadership Institute, held a community meeting tonight. Several parents turned out to give their input. Many talked about wanting someone with a strong business background. Given the funding crisis schools are facing, they say those skills are necessary to keep the district top-notch and retain students. TCAPS' current superintendent, Jim Feil, will leave the district at the end of this school year.
