The Army Corps of Engineers had an informational meeting tonight, Thursday, to talk about proposed changes to the Soo Locks facility. Instead of a modern look, they're taking the design style back to the 1940's. They want to create more plant diversity, add more signage and move or remodel certain monuments. They also want to get rid of the three existing observation decks and replace them with just one that is bigger. In addition, they want to expand two parking lots and add a 10X20 foot bandstand that is level with the ground. These changes will happen over a number of years, and there is no price tag, yet. Fox 32's Christina Vecchioni and photojournalist Aaron Smith have more details from tonight's meeting. For more details, click on the link below to be directed to the Army Corps of Engineers website.
