Police say a former Sheriff's candidate is planning to turn himself in after attacking a man in a parking lot. The Sheriff's Department says the assault happened in Roscommon Township in Roscommon County earlier this month. The victim told police that he tried to break up a fight between a father and his two sons and one of the men turned on him. The victim says the man beat him in the head and broke his cheekbone when he tried to leave. Police say the attacker ran for Roscommon Sheriff in 2008.
