School Districts Try to Prevent Inappropriate Student-Teacher Relationships

Local school districts are doing their best to make sure student-teacher relationships stay appropriate. The Lake City Area Schools Superintendent, Bud Ashton, says the first step at making sure these relationships don't happen is to set boundaries. In addition, school districts legally have to do background checks on all of their employees. The superintendent says his schools even check up on school volunteers who come in contact with their schools. 9&10's Cali O'Rourke and photojournalist Stephanie Adkins visited with a local school district to see what they're doing to prevent these type of relationships.
