Frostbite Food Drive Comes to a Close

The Father Fred Foundation fell a little short of its goal but still calls the Frostbite Food Drive in Traverse City a success. Over the past ten days, the community donated about more than two truck loads of food. The turnout exceeded last year's, but they were hoping to fill a third truck, because the need is so high this year. The foundation is still very pleased. “Were talking a lot food and just logistically handling that, thanks again to the village press were able to store that food and bring it over,” David Abeel, Father Fred Foundation development director, said. “It's a tremendous amount of food and we think this will take us hopefully thru the moth of June this year.” Fox Motors on US-31 decided to keep accepting donations for three more days. Any food donations worth ten dollars will still get you a lift ticket to the Homestead Resort.
