Two Pedestrians Hit by a Car in Roscommon County

A man was airlifted to the hospital Friday afternoon after being hit by a car in Roscommon County. Police say three men were walking on the shoulder of the road when a car struck two of them. The car hit the pedestrians in Markey Township near Houghton Lake. A witness says the older man driving the car crossed over the white line into the shoulder. Police say the man driving had his visor down, which may have blocked his vision. Police are still investigating this accident. They say both men were conscious after being hit. Police tell Northern Michigan's News Leader they do not suspect alcohol or drugs to be a factor. All three men are from downstate and are in Northern Michigan on vacation.
