Contractors: Some Hope For 2010 Construction

According to a recent study by the Associated General Contractors of America, nearly 90 percent of contractors across the country say the construction industry will not re-bound this year. Here in Northern Michigan, contractors are a bit more optimistic. Local contractors tell us they do have more jobs now than they had one and two years ago. The say the jobs are smaller jobs, and they've had to diversify services to stay busy. Most admit there's still a long road to recovery, but say there are some signs of hope, like architects getting work again. Contractors say the market typically picks up in March and April, and that time will be key to how the rest of the year turns out. Erika Waddell and photojournalist Justin DePrekel have the story.
