Feil To Retire, Proud Of 5 Years With TCAPS

After five years, the superintendent for Traverse City Area Public schools is retiring. Jim Feil plans to retire from TCAPS at the end of this school year. Feil has worked in public education for 30 years, and at the University of Michigan for 10 years. While at TCAPS, he says he's proud of his fight for early childhood education and for equity in state funding. Feil says he'll keep busy with projects like renovating a home in the Soo, and being a grandfather. He also says he will pursue other opportunities in education in the future. The school board will start looking for new superintendent candidates immediately.
