An elk on the freeway caused big problems for a couple of weekend drivers in Cheboygan County. The Sheriff says the elk was standing on I-75 near the Wolverine exit just after midnight Sunday morning when a man driving a minivan hit the animal. Then, along came a pick-up truck pulling a snowmobile trailer, and it also hit the elk, lost control and hit the minivan. The tongue of the trailer even punctured its way into the rear seat of the van. A child in the minivan was taken to the hospital, but everyone involved is expected to be okay.
