You Too Can Help the Haiti Earthquake Victims

There are ways that you too can help the hundreds of thousands of victims of the devastating earthquake in Haiti from right here in Northern Michigan. The Red Cross Big Rapids chapter is working to educate the community on how to help. They say the International Red Cross already has aid workers on the scene in Haiti. Some of the most needed items are the usual — food, water, and shelter — which will be brought in with aid workers. But if you'd like to contribute, the Red Cross says cash donations are the easiest and fastest way to help. Now, you can even text a donation. You can send a $10 donation by texting ‘Haiti’ to 90999. You can also dial 1-800-RED-CROSS to make a donation by phone, or click on the link below to donate at the organization's website.
