Kalkaska County firefighters spent the night putting out hot spots at a log cabin style home. The fire started around five Tuesday night at the home in Excelsior Township on Darke Road. Firefighters say three people were inside when they noticed the fire. While the home did suffer significant damage to it's second story, firefighters say it's not a complete loss. Firefighters say a faulty chimney may have started the fire.
