An auto stamping plant in Traverse City is set to shut down this spring. The parent company of Grand Traverse Stamping announced plans to move the work at its Traverse City plant to a facility in Mexico. A total of 24 workers at Grand Traverse Stamping are affected by the move. The northern Michigan plant stamps parts for automotive electrical distribution systems. The consolidation also affects more than 300 workers at a plant downstate in Mattawan.
