New Salvation Army Store Prepares to Open Doors
It's been a long time coming; now it's finally time for some finishing touches. The Salvation Army in Cadillac is getting ready for the opening of their new thrift store on Monday. Wednesday, crews caulked, painted and sorted. Work started on the thrift store more than a year ago. The Salvation Army says the community has been very generous so far. They're confident the new store will be a great addition to Cadillac. “The big hopes for this building is that this will be a place for the community to come shop, as well as a place that will support our social service activities that we do. Everything that comes into this store goes back into the community,” Salvation Army Capt. Erin Eddy said. The Salvation Army has a team of volunteers to help with the store, but can always use more. The store is located at 916 South Mitchell Street.
