Michigan knocks off Ohio State 73-64

DeShawn Sims scored 28 points and Manny Harris added 24 Sunday to lead Michigan to a 73-64 win over No. 15 Ohio State. Sims' layup with six minutes to play sparked an 11-0 run that gave the Wolverines (7-6, 1-1 Big Ten) the lead for good. He and Harris scored all 11 points during the spurt. The Buckeyes (10-4, 0-2) led 55-54 after P.J. Hill's 3-pointer with less than seven minutes to play, but Michigan quickly answered and went on to beat Ohio State for the second time in 11 meetings. Ohio State missed five straight shots while the Wolverines pulled away. Jon Diebler scored 17 points and William Buford added 16 for the Buckeyes (10-4, 0-2), who lost consecutive games for the first time this season. Harris, the Big Ten's scoring leader, converted a 3-point play in the final minute of the first half to give the Wolverines a 34-32 lead at the half. (Copyright 2010 by The Associated Press.
