Hook and Hunting: 15 Turkeys Released in the Baldwin Area

15 new turkeys are in the Baldwin area tonight after they were released into the wild.

The DNR along with the Michigan Wild Turkey Hunters Association released the turkeys in an open field Wednesday afternoon.

The turkeys will help increase a dwindling population in and around Baldwin and hopefully reproduce in the spring.

All the birds were relocated from Barry County.

The DNR says the releases generate a positive response from turkey hunters.
