Cadillac Students Make A Splash Raising Money for Michigan History Class

Posted: Updated:

Cadillac students are making a splash and raising money for a lesson in Michigan history.

The Cadillac High School's Michigan history class needed to raise some money for a field trip.

So Friday, the principal and assistant principal braved the cold waters of a dunk tank to make it happen.

Students paid money to throw balls, but for $10 you could go up and make sure they were dunked.

Principal Shaina Squires says it was worth it to bring some hands-on learning to the unique class.

“They really try to work and make sure our kids can experience pieces of Michigan and history in Michigan,” says Squires. “It was organized by the students of the Michigan history class in an effort to raise money for the trips. “

This is the first year the school's offered Michigan history.

The class was able to visit the Henry Ford Museum and River Rouge Plant.
